Have you ever received a letter with that dreaded IRS logo in the left-hand corner?
We are in the tax business and our hearts race when we see one.
Here’s the thing: When you receive correspondence from a tax agency, you have to open the letter the day you receive it.
There are deadlines that need a response or actions that need to be taken inside of those letters... and avoidance is not taking action!
Usually, the IRS simply needs more information. Even if the correspondence is a bill, they may just need more information to say you do not owe it.
If you are an Accountabilities client, and we have prepared your tax return, we will respond to any letters on your behalf. Upload it to your portal as soon as you receive it so we have enough time to prepare the correspondence or give them a call before the deadline. This applies to Federal, State, or any Local agencies.
We want to receive all of your letters so we can confirm they are accurate and no action is needed!
If you are not an Accountabilities client, we strongly encourage you to talk to a tax professional to make sure the letter is legitimate, that you actually owe or if there is something you can do about it.
We know all of this can be confusing and stressful.
That’s why we’ve made it our mission to help you unravel it all.
From confusion to clarity, Accountabilities has you covered.
